Poems

«Poems» — a book of lyrics about love, freedom, loneliness, and inner resistance. The book includes poems from 1906–1941. Such a range allows us to see how rhythm, voice, and the circle of motifs changed. Love poems, reflections on the poet and the crowd, poems about the homeland and exile are found side by side. In Russian poetry of the first half of the 20th century, this style stands apart and does not belong to any literary school. Marina Tsvetaeva is presented here as a poet with a sharply recognizable intonation and extreme candor of experience.
