The heroine is a prominent medical executive, a person of discipline and outward well-being. After moving from Moscow to St. Petersburg, her life changes not abruptly, but through new acquaintances, conversations, and internal shifts that are hard to notice from the outside. Among the people she meets during this phase is Luka Ilyich Gromov—a man with an unfulfilled musical destiny and his own burden of the past. Their closeness brings to the forefront not only feelings but also the question of what to do with the years lived, unfulfilled dreams, and the habit of putting oneself off until later.
