The Last Child of Auschwitz

The continuation of the international bestseller «The Auschwitz Midwife». The story of prisoner Naomi Demetriou and midwife Ana Kaminski.

Auschwitz, 1945. For three years, Naomi Demetriou has been trying to survive behind the barbed wire of the death camp. When Naomi becomes the object of attention of an SS officer, her life turns into a nightmare. Soon she realizes that she is expecting a child.

With the help of Ana — the Auschwitz midwife — and other women from the mothers' barrack, Naomi manages to achieve the impossible: to give birth to a son and hide him from the guards. Rumors of the imminent arrival of the Allies give hope that one day she will be able to return home, to the shores of Greece, with her baby.

But when the evacuation of the camp begins, Naomi is sent on a deadly march through snowy Poland. In the chaos of the last days of the war, she loses her child. While the mother desperately fights for survival, Ana does everything possible to save the remaining baby in the camp.

Based on real events, Anna Stewart's novel tells the story of women who continued to save lives even in the darkest days of war. A touching and dramatic story of maternal love, friendship, and hope that survived Auschwitz.
