The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

The first story about Sherlock Holmes was published by 27-year-old doctor Arthur Conan Doyle only after several rejections — and for a mere pittance! Back in 1887, no one could have imagined that the detective from Baker Street would become so beloved by readers that, even when the author wanted to put an end to the story, they would not allow it.

"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" — the first collection of stories about the famous detective. In these repeatedly adapted tales, Holmes, along with his faithful companion Dr. Watson, investigates mysterious incidents that are beyond the capabilities of Scotland Yard.

The edition includes eleven stories, among which are "A Scandal in Bohemia," "The Red-Headed League," "The Blue Carbuncle," "The Speckled Band," and "The Copper Beeches." Here you will find everything that readers love about the stories of Sherlock Holmes: mysterious crimes, unexpected twists, Victorian England, brilliant deductive chains, and a special friendly dynamic between the genius detective and Dr. Watson.
