The Curse

Angria in Charlotte Brontë's works is a space of political intrigue, personal alliances, and sharp confrontations, where private feelings constantly clash with the interests of power. The stories feature rulers, military leaders, and aristocrats bound by friendship, love, rivalry, and betrayal. Romantic elevation here is combined with a dark Gothic atmosphere. The works tell of various events from the history of Angria and do not form a single continuous plot. Common characters, political conflicts, and settings connect them, but they represent only a part of the vast world created by Charlotte and Branwell Brontë.
