Before you is the published in 1904-1913 «Explanatory Bible» by A. P. Lopukhin (11 volumes) — the only interpretation of the entire Bible published in Russia. By 1914, this edition became a bibliographic rarity. The most fundamental Russian edition of the Bible — with illustrations and detailed commentary on all books. The author of one of the most authoritative historical commentaries on the books of Sacred Scripture is the outstanding Russian biblicist Alexander Pavlovich Lopukhin (1852-1904). In 1904, under the editorship of A. P. Lopukhin, the most extensive publication in the history of domestic biblicism of the books of Sacred Scripture — «Explanatory Bible» was initiated, which, in addition to the complete biblical text with illustrations, contains detailed commentary on each book.
