The Fall of the Empire

In the documentary and journalistic essays of Elena Prudnikova, the widely spread mythologems about life in the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th — beginning of the 20th century, its socio-political structure, and the personality of the last emperor — Nicholas II are analyzed. Originating during the period of «perestroika», they continue to influence public consciousness to this day. A separate essay is dedicated to the debate surrounding the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
