The Book of the Dead

MOSCOW. DECEMBER 1952. Major MGB Ivan Shipov is preparing to arrest a group of romantic students dreaming of a new revolution. The operation is simple, routine. But when the operatives burst into the apartment, they are met with a nightmare: five young idealists are dead. Each has a mark from a control shot in their head. A professional job.
Who cleaned up the suspects before the authorities? Shipov finds a clue: the student leader was tortured, burned with cigarettes, and cut with a knife. The killers were interested in the old book by Samuel Polesky «Union of Justice 16».
The last hope is on an agent embedded in the student group. Shipov rushes to save him, but he is late again. The dying agent manages to whisper: «I passed the book...» — and dies. To whom did he pass it? Why? And what is in this book that is worth killing for without a word?
One by one, everyone who came into contact with the mysterious publication dies. Shipov realizes that a well-armed, professionally trained, merciless gang is operating in Moscow. And he also understands that he is already being watched…
Is it possible to find the truth when all the witnesses are dead? And, most importantly — can one survive when the hunter becomes the prey?
