In the hands of Alfred Stieglitz, one of the most influential figures in American art in the early 20th century, a series of innovative abstractions created by a young drawing teacher from Texas comes to light. The intellectual kinship and mutual attraction between the two talented individuals quickly evolves into passion, and soon Georgia O’Keeffe becomes Stieglitz's muse. Her candid photographic portraits are discussed throughout the country, but it turns out that fame has a dark side — now critics see in the artist's canvases only a projection of male fantasies. Georgia feels constrained in Alfred's company, and she realizes: she will have to leave New York to be heard.
