with the rank of major general). For many years he was a professor at the University of Munich, founded the German Institute of Geopolitics and the "Journal of Geopolitics". Developing the views of Ratzel, Chellen, Mackinder, and Bismarck's idea of a Russo-German alliance, the author developed a peculiar version of Eurasianism — a military-geopolitical doctrine of the "Continental Block (Alliance)", which was supposed to unite the states of Eurasia in opposition to the Anglo-Saxon world. This edition includes selected works: «Borders in their geographical and political significance» «Panideas in geopolitics» «Status quo and renewal of life» «Continental Block: Central Europe – Eurasia – Japan»
