Where is the dictatorship drifting?

The book by Konstantin Gaaze "Where are Dictatorships Drifting?" discusses the historical evolution of Russian autocracy, the inevitable result of which was the full-scale invasion of a neighboring country. Contemplating why Russia attacked Ukraine, the author immediately dismisses two worn-out theses - about the eternal historical fate of the country and the sinister personality of its ruler. Instead, he offers the reader the results of his historical and sociological investigation, which lasted for 11 years starting from March 2014. Relying on unique internal documents from the Kremlin and the Russian government, modern scientific theories, and historical classics, he demonstrates what compelled the westernized Russian elite to challenge the "collective West," how the authorities literally reassembled Russian society for the goals and objectives of the war, and why many representatives of the intelligentsia, embedded in the power vertical, could not prevent this war.
