This edition is based on concert performances by renowned musicians of all ten sonatas by L. Beethoven, as well as on numerous audio recordings. Relying on the urtext, D. Oistrakh and L. Oborin created their own version of the interpretation of the chamber masterpieces of the composers.
All fingering indications in the score and the accompanying violin part belong to the authors of this edition. D. Oistrakh's bowings in the violin part are indicated by dotted lines. Other editorial markings are given in parentheses, performance variations are published in footnotes.
