Galatskaya) created several decades ago. This textbook provides a more comprehensive coverage of the life and works of J. S. Bach and G. F. Handel, includes new materials, and in the introductory chapter dedicated to the musical culture of the Baroque era, essential terms from subjects that were absent from school programs (polyphony, musical form, etc.) are introduced and explained. The book is equipped with a large number of musical examples and an Appendix that includes works by composers of the Baroque era – C. Monteverdi, H. Purcell, A. Scarlatti, and F. Couperin.
