The Kazan Avenger

1904. Investigating magistrate Ivan Fyodorovich Volovtsov travels to Kazan to investigate a series of mysterious murders. The victims—a government official, a merchant, and a staff captain—were shot with unusual bullets with hexagonal bases. Each of the deceased had serious enemies. The official uncovered large embezzlements at a gunpowder factory; the merchant built a mill, infringing on the interests of competitors; the staff captain was an ardent opponent of the growing influence of the Social Revolutionaries... Investigator Volovtsov explores different versions of events. But the murderer is not idle either. His next target is the vice-governor. Once again, a hexagonal bullet is involved... The case appears convoluted, until a person with distinctive features comes into the investigation's focus...
