Dhammapada

Dhammapada — one of the most important works of Buddhist literature, composed, as tradition says, of the poetic sayings of Buddha Shakyamuni, pronounced by him in certain circumstances. The Dhamma-pada, created around the 3rd century BCE, outlines the main ethical principles of early Buddhism. It is included in the Khuddaka-Nikaya of the Pali Canon. A famous collection of sayings, an important component of the Buddhist canon, meaning "The Path of Virtue" (the second translation of the title - "The Foundation of the Law"). The Pali text of the Dhammapada consists of 26 chapters, including 423 sayings of Buddha Shakyamuni, each of which illuminates quite profound questions, and at the same time all are presented as simply as possible to be accessible even to an uneducated reader or listener.
