«Black Loneliness» — a historical fantasy about a man who lives with a dark inner burden and does not understand where it came from. The central character is Mikael Cornelius Lind, son of Tarjei, who grew up far from Norway and knows nothing about the Ice People. He is surrounded by the 17th century, ancestral memory, fear of his own abilities, and a feeling of complete disconnection from the world. This is the ninth volume of the story about the descendants of Tengel the Evil, where the hero's personal drama is tied to the heavy legacy of his family and the influence of the past on the present.
The hero lives in ignorance of his origins and tries to cope with what is happening inside him. He is haunted by loneliness, heavy thoughts, and a sense of danger to which he cannot find an explanation. Gradually, people and circumstances related to the Ice People enter his life, and his personal struggle turns out to be part of a larger story. This is compounded by a dangerous political game, where outside interests easily exploit weakness, fear, and ignorance. The tension builds on the combination of family legacy, internal crisis, and search for support.
