A Novel of Two Worlds

A young talented pianist, suffering from severe depression and nervous exhaustion, leaves London for Cannes on the advice of a doctor. There, she meets the Italian artist Raffaello Cellini, who possesses an almost mystical understanding of art and the mysteries of color. He speaks of someone who can help her, but the path to healing will require her to rethink everything she thought she knew about reality itself. The main character travels to Paris, meets the mysterious healer and mystic Heliobas. She undergoes exotic treatments, visionary dreams that gradually heal her soul and body. Experiencing a spiritual awakening, she sees celestial visions, uncovers the secrets of the afterlife, and discovers a love that transcends the physical world.

The work combines romance, mysticism, and early science fiction.
Heliobas also appears in two other novels by Marie Corelli - "Ardaf" and "The Soul of Lilith".
