Insects in Comics. Volume 5

The fifth volume of the popular French series "Insects in Comics" will tell not only about our six-legged contemporaries, many of whom we have already met in previous volumes, but also about their prehistoric ancestors. Among them were real monsters: the vampire ant, the giant dragonfly Meganeura, the insatiable flea Pseudopulex... Brrr! Fortunately, they went extinct a long time ago... But among their descendants, who fly, run, jump, and crawl among us, there are also plenty of originals, though not as terrifying - for example, the diving fly that easily dives into a salty lake, the large wax moth whose caterpillars eat plastic, or the "explosive" ants of the genus Colobopsis, which... well, yes, explode, literally! You will also learn how a paleoentomologist differs from an archeoentomologist, why cockroaches flew into space, how a ladybug saved an innocent person from execution, what diatomite is dangerous for insects, how the "elections" of a queen bee take place, and why the predatory Stenolemus has "musical" abilities...
The traditional educational section at the end of the book will suggest to young nature lovers how to make the environment a little more attractive and safe for insects, without which all of us and the planet as a whole would have a very hard time.
