The textbook for the Russian language for foreigners (RKI) is an intensive course of Russian at level A1+ - A2. Its main task is to help foreigners quickly and effectively integrate into the Russian-speaking environment in Russian with a minimal level of language proficiency. The sequence of presentation of grammatical and lexical materials is determined by communicative necessity: the more necessary a lexical unit or grammatical structure is in real communication situations, the earlier it is introduced in the course. The textbook contains numerous authentic dialogues, texts with interactive tasks, exercises, a large number of jokes and anecdotes, as well as some information on the history of the language (in the form of comments). The book is aimed at foreigners for whom English is their native language or a medium language and who have not previously studied the Russian language. There is also a French version. The course continues to a complete A2 level.
