For centuries, Romania has been at the crossroads of cultures - that is why different languages were spoken here and people believed in dissimilar deities.

In these conditions, a polyphonic mythological system emerged, where there are spirits of luck and misfortune, where the days of the week come to life, strigoi, angels and devils meet, and the brave Făt-Frumos fights monsters.

A separate layer consists of apocryphal myths, in which Christian motifs are interwoven with much older beliefs, where God and the Devil are not only eternal antagonists but also demiurge accomplices.
