The hero of the new novel by Fan Yipin, Stubborn Dad, received his nickname at the age of fourteen, and his long, long life only confirmed the validity of this nickname. Author of the novel Fan Yipin (born 1964), of Zhuang nationality, hails from the mountainous areas of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southwestern China, and is a graduate of Fudan University. He is the author of novels, novellas, and short stories. The film based on his screenplay "The Missing Weapon" became the highest-grossing film in China in 2002 and drew wide public attention to the writer. In 2018, the novel "Mount Tiandenshan" by Fan Yipin was published in Russian by the publishing house "Hyperion".
