England and Europe: from the Middle Ages to Modern Times

The proposed collection is dedicated to the anniversary of one of the leading domestic medievalists-Anglophiles, professor of St. Petersburg University S. E. Fedorov. It features scientific articles with a very wide range of topics, providing insights into specific phenomena of social and cultural history of the British Isles and various regions of continental Europe. The focus is on aspects of medieval law, characteristic features of the organization of monarchical power, contemporary perceptions of one's own "ethnic" and "proto-national" history, the peculiarities of the medieval urban world and church institutions, testimonies from individual sources and political events. The chronological framework encompasses the medieval period itself and the beginning of modern times. The authors of the sketches are prominent scholars representing various academic and university centers of our country.

The collection is aimed at both specialists and a wide range of readers interested in the history of Europe.
