Midrash Tells Children. Book of Bereshit

Midrash (explanations from our sages) - is a story related to the sacred books, their heroes, and plots, but the midrash tells about what is absent in these books. It is absent - but is restored through other parts of the Torah, other texts, and oral tradition. Using the entire volume of knowledge and rules for interpreting texts, our sages arrive at new, deeper, often unexpected understandings of what seems to be long known and studied. In the proposed series of books 'Midrash Tells Children,' some midrashim on each weekly chapter of the Torah are presented. The first volume is devoted to the book of Bereshit. Young readers will learn about the creation of the world and the history of the covenant between the Almighty and Abraham, about Abraham's son Isaac and his grandson Jacob, about the twelve tribes of Israel and their life in Egypt, about the indissolubility of the covenant between the Almighty and the sons of Israel.
