Mishneh Torah (Maimonides' Code). Book of Purity

Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon (Rambam, 1138–1204) — the greatest Jewish sage of the post-Talmudic era: legislator, philosopher, scholar, and physician. His code Mishneh Torah (“Repetition of the Teaching”) is one of the most important works of Jewish tradition. In the most extensive of his works, Rambam summarizes and systematizes Talmudic tradition and presents the entirety of Jewish religious law — halakha — in an accessible form. The tenth book of Mishneh Torah, “Purity,” dedicated to the laws of ritual purity and impurity, includes the Laws of the Impurity of Death, the Laws of the Red Heifer, the Laws of the Impurity of Tzaraat, the Laws of the Impurity of a Bed and Seat, the Laws of Other Sources of Impurity, the Laws of the Impurity of Food, the Laws of Utensils, and the Laws of Mikveh. For the first time, it is published in full in Russian, in a precise contemporary translation with detailed commentaries.
