Legends of Kings David and Solomon

In the book "Legends of Kings David and Solomon," Chaim-Nachman Bialik (1873–1934) collected, reworked, and supplemented legends from the Bible, Talmud, midrashim, commentaries, and the folklore of various Jewish communities. The author addresses the Eastern European, Ashkenazi tradition while also employing eventful and psychological accents characteristic of Jews in the Islamic world. The traditions and legends familiar to us from canonical and literary texts, along with Bialik's original stories, allow the reader to touch upon the foundations of Jewish spirituality.
