Such People Used to Exist

The collected works of the storyteller, poet, and journalist Avrom Reizen (1876–1953) include his writings in Yiddish from the early twentieth century. These mini-novellas, telling stories about ordinary people – craftsmen, small traders, workers, yeshiva students, and employees – are characterized by psychological insights, precision of details, and the attentive gaze of the writer.
