Stop in the Desert

The collections of poems by Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996) "Stop in the Desert", "The End of a Beautiful Era", "Part of Speech", "New Stanzas to Augusta", "Urania" and "Landscape with Flood" were published in the 1970s-90s by the American publishing house "Ardis", where for many years the works of Russian literature, which could not see the light in their homeland, were released. Brodsky wrote that this publishing house saved numerous Russian writers and poets from oblivion and changed the very climate of Russian literature. The collection "Stop in the Desert" includes poems from the 1960s, among which are "A Great Elegy to John Donne", "To A. A. Akhmatova", "Developing Krylov", "In the village, God does not live in the corners.", "On a Winter Evening in Yalta" and many others.
