The Tale of Zoya and Shura

This tale is about their short life (brother and sister died shortly after reaching adulthood). It is mainly about family, childhood, and growing up: how little responsible Zoya took care of Shura, how she studied at school, how she grew up too soon after her father's death, what books she read, what she wrote in her notebook-diary, what she argued about with her friends... The image of Shura is very endearing, mischievous, talented, and not always predictable. On the pages of the tale stands the image of Lyubov Timofeyevna — the mother who lost both children, in whose soul the pain of loss and pride in their feat tragically intertwined. The story has been literary processed by L. T. Kosmodemyanskaya and is crafted by writer, journalist, and educator Frida Vigdorova, who invested her talent and understanding of the child and adolescent soul into this book.
