Uncle's House

Zahar temporarily moved in with his Uncle, his father's older brother, in the village of Kostenki due to health reasons. The boy will finish the school year here and will stay for the summer. But what to do in the village? In the city, he had a music band, clubs, friends, and here... Here is his Uncle's strange, Lego-like house, a giant tortoise wandering freely through all the rooms, and also... There is a famous labyrinth from the Neolithic era in Kostenki and the shadows that it casts from the past into our time. Zahar encounters a gypsy camp, a White Guard officer, a dangerous highwaywoman named Varvara who inexplicably hates his entire family, a primitive woman named Nadya, and an amazing creature - a baby mammoth named Dobrynya, whom he brought from the past himself, Zahar! Incredible, but Zahar has a gift that no one in the village is particularly surprised by: he can touch the shadows. No one else is capable of that! And everything would be fine, but the labyrinth at the edge of Kostenki and the museum where his Uncle works want to be demolished and replaced with a cottage community!

Can one resist the investors when the only supporters are the shadows of the labyrinth and classmates? Will the kids be able to help the baby mammoth return to its time? And why does the highwaywoman Varvara so desperately want to take revenge on Zahar and his family, and can she regain her flesh and cease to be just a shadow of the labyrinth?
