The Dream of a Ridiculous Man

«The Dream of a Ridiculous Man» — one of the last works of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. The story is written in the form of a confessional monologue four years before the writer's death. The main character, the very «ridiculous man», reaches despair, but on the eve of the fateful event, he has a dream that completely changes his perception of the world. The story is often interpreted as the final expression of Dostoevsky's faith in the spiritual rebirth of man and, in a sense, a testament. In 1992, an animated film by future Academy Award winner Alexander Petrov was released, and in 2025 we are pleased to present a graphic adaptation of this philosophical parable about hope as part of the «Classics in Comics» series.
