Relationships with Others: Not Easy, but Not in Vain

...Our conflicts with other people are one of the mysterious, incomprehensible ways that God uses to save us from ourselves. God wants to transform us, as much as possible, in our earthly life, and conflicts are one of the means that contribute to achieving this goal. This truth seems surprising: we are not used to thinking that unpleasant events can serve the achievement of good purposes. But there is nothing surprising about it. Any suffering, including conflicts, can be redemptive because God's grace exists. How? Everything in our life, including conflicts, can, if God wills, contribute to the mortification of the sin that lives within us, strengthen our love for God and for our neighbors in our hearts, and thus make us more like Christ.
