The immortal comedy of the classic of Russian and world literature Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol (1809—1852) is illustrated with 95 drawings by artists Vladimir Amosovich Taburin (1864—1919) and Petr Mikhailovich Boklevsky (1816—1897); the portrait of the author is by Dmitry Nikolaevich Kardovsky (1866—1943).
