Woe from Wit

«Woe from Wit» — one of the peaks of Russian drama and poetry, a magnificent satire on Moscow society of the early 19th century. This most famous work of A. S. Griboedov almost immediately after its first publication in 1825 became widely quoted. This edition is illustrated with drawings by the talented artist D. N. Kardovsky, who by the early 20th century had earned a reputation as the first domestic master of book graphics.
