In the Lilac Garden

Louisa May Alcott — an American writer, the author of the famous novel «Little Women», which brought her worldwide fame and the love of readers. To this day, the book remains one of the most significant works of American literature.

In her novel «In the Lilac Garden» (1878), Alcott tells the story of a twelve-year-old boy named Ben and his faithful dog Sancho, who ran away from the circus and after long wanderings found a new home in a friendly, cheerful family. As in other books by Alcott, the little heroes will have to overcome many difficulties, learn patience and forgiveness, and they will be helped by sincere love, friendship, courage, and faith.

This edition features wonderful illustrations by American artist Alice Barber Stephens.
