Protopope Avvakum – the ideologist of the Church schism and the leader of the Old Believers. This unyielding man strictly followed the principles he believed in until his last breath. Convinced of his righteousness, he was ready to zealously exterminate the wicked and openly oppose the patriarch and the tsar himself, for which he paid with his rank and then his life.
