At the Bottom

More than a hundred years have passed since Maxim Gorky created the play "At the Bottom," and its characters have not disappeared and remain recognizable: homeless people, thieves, prostitutes - the rejected members of society from the "bottom" - seem to have moved through time, not losing their problems, from Gorky's den to the streets of the modern metropolis. The question of the necessity of choosing one's position has remained just as relevant: "A person - that sounds proud!" or "A person should be pitied"?
The book also includes the plays "The Philistines" and "Vassa Zheleznova," as well as short stories and prose poems.
