God in a Locked Room

Ririko Arimori is a student with a brilliant, even frightening gift for logical reasoning. She works at the Takashi Ootoya detective agency and can outshine her boss in a case. Suddenly, the girl disappears without a trace. Ootoya is willing to do anything to find his assistant. He finds her in faraway South America, in the jungles of Guyana. For reasons known only to her, Ririko is studying the life of a closed religious community called the "Temple of Peoples." Everything in this place is strange: the believers think they are free from disease and death, a legless man is absolutely sure he can walk, and the mysterious cult leader Jim Jordan regularly demonstrates the ability to perform miracles.
