Berlin Kremlin. Wings of a Peasant

What was the life of Soviet soldiers and officers in East Germany during the years of the «Cold War»? What thoughts and feelings did their service, the country, and the surrounding world evoke in them? This book is not a memoir, but a diary—a collection of observations and reflections on Soviet life and Soviet people as seen by a soldier behind the «iron curtain». The author takes the reader through the streets of East Berlin, through the devastated landscapes of the battlefields of World War II, into the hearts and minds of those who served the Soviet Union during the time of great tension and fear. Through vivid descriptions and well-developed characters of the heroes, this book will transport you to another time and place, immersing you in the daily struggle and moments of triumph of people living under a communist regime. The book is recommended for anyone interested in the history of the «Cold War», military life, and the human destinies that lie at the heart of political conflicts.
