Three Sisters

The great Irishman James Joyce wrote about the plays of A.P. Chekhov: «In Chekhov's plays, there is no beginning, no middle, and no end — not even a climax. His plays are a continuous flow of life that bursts onto the stage and then recedes; in his plays, there is nothing final, and you feel that the life drama of his characters began long before the performance — and will continue afterwards.» Inversion of the dramatic and the life, atmosphere through random phrases and dissonant dialogues, the great Chekhovian detail, the manner of speech of the characters — all this speaks of a distant, unrealized, missed life in the fates of unremarkable people.
