Concert

Young poet Nikolai Kotomko is invited to a charity concert. He has been preparing for three weeks, but on the day of the performance it turns out that the other artists did not arrive. Trying to salvage the situation, the poet steps onto the stage three times and reads only two poems, which causes hysterical laughter from the audience. This collection includes selected stories by Nadezhda Teffi — the "queen of Russian humor," whose work was even read by Nicholas II.
