Previously known as a poet and translator, Kerim Volkovysky recently turned to prose and, as a debut, dared to offer "romantic reading," based on the resurrection of memories lived and experienced. With confessional candor, the author speaks of love, sometimes unclear, contradictory, painful, but always beautiful. Volkovysky left the Soviet Union at thirty, traveled extensively through Europe and the world, which explains both the variety of settings and the diverse characters in his prose, but there is a common thread that is characteristic of all the author's works - an extraordinary sympathy with which he describes both the professor's son Selim Dvorkin, who was brought by fate from 1960s Perm to present-day Switzerland, and the self-assured French politician who ruined his career because of a chance affair with a maid, and the amazing Rosalie Katz from San Francisco, who fell in love with a Georgian youth.
