Rubaiyat

The great Persian poet Omar Khayyam (circa 1048–1131) was a mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher. The poetry of Omar Khayyam was introduced to the European reader in the 19th century by the English poet Edward Fitzgerald. From that moment, his global fame grew increasingly popular, and the fashion for Khayyam turned into an epidemic.
