Lessons of Moral Genealogy

The book by V. S. Martyshev "Lessons of Moral Genealogy. A Guide to Studying Family History" is already the third edition of his first textbook on genealogy in our country, which appeared at the turn of the millennium under the name "Your Genealogy". The author of the book is a rural teacher, the founder of a unique school that revived an entire locality of Russian land. While researching their genealogies together with his students, V. S. Martyshev created an original methodology in the field of ancestral pedagogy. It formed the basis of the course "Your Genealogy", which has been taught for three decades at the Ivano-Lekhte School in the Borisoglebsky District of the Yaroslavl Region and is a separate academic discipline. This methodology can be utilized by anyone who reads the book and wishes to touch upon the mysteries of their lineage. But most importantly, as the author believes, as a result of this work, students and readers studying their lineage receive moral lessons from their ancestors, establish a spiritual connection with previous generations, and return to their ideological roots.
