13 Minutes of Joy

Moscow, 1990–2000s: an era of change, music on cassette tapes and student adventures. In this world lives Yefrosinya Vasileva, who is convinced that joy is not her forte. Yet throughout her life, she has managed to experience at least 24 moments of true happiness—rare, bright, and poignant. Before her death, Yefrosinya relives each of them one by one.

In the first part of the duology, Yefrosinya shares 13 minutes of sharp joy: from childhood games with a white suitcase and a trophy Mars bar to first school crushes, studying at the journalism faculty of Moscow State University, and real friendship.

"13 Minutes of Joy" is a bright, touching, and ironic coming-of-age story, full of nostalgic details and little miracles that stay with us forever.
