Red Flower

Vsevolod Garshin (1855—1888) — a Russian writer, who faced many trials: family drama in childhood, participation in the Russo-Turkish War, mental disorder, suicide… His texts are characterized by deep psychological insight and protest against social injustice.
The book includes fairy tales and stories, among which is «Red Flower», one of Garshin's most famous tales. Its hero, obsessed with the idea of eradicating global evil, is convinced that it is concentrated in the detested red flowers… And also a beloved fairy tale «The Traveling Frog» — about a heroine who dreamed of flying to warm lands with the ducks, but due to her boasting fell from the sky and landed in a swamp.
