Spartacus

Raffaello Giovagnoli, like his hero, was a revolutionary and did not abandon his calling even while working on "Spartacus": at the café near the Valle theater, where he wrote the novel, his friends and like-minded people gathered. The book gained such success that publishers fought for the right to publish it, and a football club of the same name appeared in Moscow.

The brave gladiator Spartacus, after victory in the arena, gains freedom — and is ready to risk it to put an end to the bloodthirsty Roman power. But will he sacrifice love for this? Will he falter when faced with betrayal? Will he cope with the bitterness of defeats and losses?
