The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Mark Twain (1835–1910) is an American writer who is called the father of American literature. In 1876, the most famous work of Mark Twain, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," was published. The setting is based on the city where he spent his childhood—Hannibal. The characters of Tom's friends were also inspired by the boys the writer played with in his youth. Their adventures became an integral part of the book.
