Nine women. One abandoned mine. A mystery that the town has kept for years.

A mass grave has been discovered in an abandoned mine near the town of Maddy Krig – the remains of nine young women. FBI agent Phoenix Richmond and local sheriff Harry Olborn begin the hunt for a maniac, but the investigation turns against them: a provocative article accuses the sheriff himself of the murders, and the town turns into an enemy.

The killer is closer than they think. He is someone no one would suspect. And he has already chosen his next victim.
