The Theory of Sadness of Mileva Einstein

The brilliant mathematician Mileva Maric sacrificed her career in her youth to dedicate herself to her husband, Albert Einstein. On the eve of World War I, she receives a letter from him, already a well-known scientist, with humiliating conditions for the preservation of their marriage and must make a painful decision: to agree or to take the children and leave Berlin for the unknown.
Croatian writer and journalist Slavenka Drakulic tells the story of a woman whom history has condemned to remain in the shadow of a famous man. Based on facts and genuine letters, the novel sheds light on the personality and life of a man who changed our understanding of space and time.
