1982. Colonel of the KGB Alexey Ulanov betrays his country and escapes to the USA, where he becomes a CIA informant. Soviet intelligence decides to bring the defector back at any cost and involves his ex-wife Sofia in the operation,... who, as it turns out, knew nothing of her husband's intentions. Under the supervision of KGB Major Oleg Werner, the woman goes to the States, where she 'reunites' with her fugitive husband. But luring Ulanov out of the USA is not so simple: he is closely guarded by agents of Western intelligence services.
